Default iPhone 4 - Connecting Bluetooth

OK guys,

Sorry to most likely beat a dead horse, but my searching is coming up short. I am trying to sync my iPhone 4 with 2008 IS-F for bluetooth capabilities and I'm not quite sure how to do it. I visited the letstalk site as per the booklet, but didn't see anything about the iPhone. I have read several people on here are synched with their iPhone and their F - so how do I do it?

Thanks,
Jonny

when you say syncing do u mean by setting up the handsfree talk? it should be simple but im not an iphone user so I can't say. Did you pair the phone to the ISF? Make sure ur phone bluetooth is set to on.

Yes I'd like to use the hands free capabilities offered by the car (buttons on the steering wheel.) I tried turning on my bluetooth on my phone but it couldn't ever find the cars bluetooth. Which was weird because I was sitting in the car

The PO had all his numbers stored in there, which is great, but it doesn't really help me. I can't even work out how to delete his numbers...

Doesn't seem like it should be this hard In my QX56 it was very simple so I am not sure what it making the F so difficult...

What's up! The way mine works is you have to go through the SET UP options on your nav screen. Sometimes "blueteeth" lol get very fussy. So delete all phones that have been previously Synced on the car through the MANAGE BLUETOOTH DEVICES. Then setup your phone as a new device and that should do it. My iPhone 4 works perfect, idk if that's a 2011 ISF thing or?
Good luck man!

i think the problem you are experiencing is that the isf is tryin to connect with the previous owners phone. delete that phone like iffy08 stated above and pair urs and connect. if u have a problem call customer service and they will guide you through.

What be said. Once u delete the po sync phones u should be good. The only problem I have is syncing he phone book to th system. I actually had to use my black berry to transfer the contacts since the 08 ISF isn't capable of transferring the contacts from the iPhone. If anyone else knows how to please let me know.

What's up T? Yes sir - still have it, although with our current weather I haven't gotten to ride much. Looking forward to putting some miles on it this summer. What about you - still got your Busa?

Take care man,
Jonny

It's been said already, the iPhone will pair with the ISF without a problem, but it won't push the contacts into the car. That's the problem here, Lexus requires the phone to push the information but Apple doesn't want their phones to do it. Other phone brands have no problem pushing information through bluetooth.

I've gone through all iPhone versions and all of them paired with my ISF successfully. My boss drives a 335i and he was able to sync contacts with his iPhone, BMW pulls the information from the phone. =(

Just an FYI, the 2011 models are able to sync Contacts into the nav screen, set speed dials, and check Recent calls on the iPhone.

Sorry to bring this back up, is there anyway to update the 08 Navi to support A2DP so I have better IPHONE support? Or do we have to replace the whole unit? Is there a software update?
