Is the cabin filter from the factory carbon impregnated or not? Ordering a new one for my 30K service.

Thanks.

No one responded so I went out and pulled my own.

For the record. the factory installed unit is the carbon impregnated one.

The 2xIS comes carbon impregnated so I would assume the IS-F does. However I remember reading somewhere that dealerships sell both carbon one and non-carbon one, so make sure you buy the right one

Lucky you! Mine came w/ paper type. Carbon type is more expensive but sure worth it. It does very well filtering out unpleasant odor from the outside.

Price was right with no tax and Amazon Prime free shipping. I'll let you all know how it fits, etc.

Update us on how it goes, for sure could use a better filter. Obnoxious fumes/urine smell from fan is a killer.

Default FRAM vs. Stock

So the Fram filter impregnated with carbon and baking soda arrived. Here it is pictured on the left. You can see there are fewer folds, so less efficient filtering due to reduced surface area. however I believe it is more than adequate to do the job. It was 1/2 the price of the Toyota/Lexus OEM unit from Japan (higher quality than the replacement used by most dealers) so it is significantly cheaper at $18. Fit was good (same size). We'll see how it holds up over time.
