I'm sure this has already been asked, but any hints, rumors, etc, on the next generation IS-F? What's the timeline? Will there be any weight loss and will the 5.0 liter V-8 remain? Will there be any boost in power output?

I have scoured the internet for information on the next F and have found nothing. Nor have I found anything on the next GS. Lexus is tight lipped about both. You will find plenty of speculation, but no facts.

I've been told 2012 will be identical to 2011.

2013 is a refresh, and I've been told 5.0L V8 will remain with an upping in hp to ~450hp.

I'm still anxiously waiting to see what the refresh will look like. That will decide whether I purchase a 2013 or 2012 model.

My best friend is the 2nd cousin of the lead designers maid and he confirmed it will have a Long-wheelbase chassis made from unobtanium, an 18 cylinder engine with 6 turbos, interior trim made from the hides of unicorns and only come in pink!

New IS is due soon, after the 4GS (in 2012 as 2013 model year) and an F variant will follow soon after that. Don't expect any factual rumors to get excited about, Lexus usually keeps a tight lid on these type of things, nothing really gets out unless they want it to.

I have heard that they are planning to release a 4 door convertible version with 4 cylinders. And yes the Exhaust tips are connected for this version only. They also are planning to go with any color option as long it is purple.

Of course they are... The tips have always been connected to the mufflers!!

The exhaust diffusers, on the other hand, are connected to the bumper.

I have a feeling the diffusers are sticking around this 2nd time as well.
