Something's not right with your catalytic converter. Take the car to the dealer, they have fixes for this.

It could be carbon build up. If you don't drive the car hard and then floor it, it will smell like rotten eggs. I'm pretty sure it builds up in the Catalytic converter.

I use strictly 76's or Chevron's 91 and it didn't help with the smell. It's freaking design flaw when the nasty odor gets inside the cabin with all windows and sun roof closed.

The smell is completely normal and is NOT indicative of a problem. Lexus is not the only manufacturer whom has this happen when their cars are driven aggressively. The smell is the result of the chemical reactions taking place inside the catalytic converters, and has more to do with the fuel used than the car in particular. When it happens just look at your wife and say "Sorry didn't feel that one coming!", Or you can blame it on the dog!

If exhaust is getting inside your car with all the windows closed you need to have this situation addressed IMMEDIATELY! This is a very dangerous condition, with that smell comes Carbon Monoxide, a colorless and odorless gas which is EXTREMELY poisonous! Your car has an massive air leak somewhere and could result in serious INJURY or DEATH.

Have you tried putting back on the OEM Intake Airbox & Pipe ???

That's exactly what I would do next...!!

Followed by cleaning the MAF Sensor as well. (but only if you're experienced with the procedure)

I have the same problem and performed the following:

Joe Z intake and stock intake = same problem remains
Changed gas fuel comapnies (Esso/ Exxon, Shell, Petro Canada) same octanes
MAF cleaning of Platinum Hot Wire
Deep intake/ combustion chamber cleaning
Reset ECU learned values

.....all continue to breed the same issue under heavy acceleration only.

I also checked my catalyst efficiencies ....and everything is performing in unison (same heat and cool down temperatures). I see no other technical data from Lexus on what these tempeatures should be, so assuming they are heating up at the same temperature they are operating correctly.

I assume they are working OK and am not overly concerned at this point in time. In other cars, simply changing fuel companies has resolved this for me in the past.

thanks digger. good to know that its still the same with the stock intake. considering i dont have mine. I was wondering if lexus would give me a problem if i brought it there with the K&N inake on it. Anyone have one for sale or know where i can get one..the smell doesnt last to long. (it shouldnt be there) but it just reminds me how beastly this car is..man I cant wait for sikky headers and joe z's exhaust. this car must be ridiculous with that set up.. Any CT IS F owners in here?
