They need to make them right for us, and it sure sounds like they are still making them to order or in low low qtys.. (with no molds)

I know this is an old thread, and the original issue had resolved itself after some high speed/heavy braking highway driving, but this same thing keeps happening over & over again. It has probably happened about 5 times now since switching to the new pads. And it usually starts after a hard brake to a stop. Like yesterday I slammed in the brakes to stop at a yellow light because a car was turning left in front of me, and the next time I came to a normal stop after that I was getting that same severe grinding. So I sped up to about 60 and slammed on the brakes a few times, then it went away.
Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? It's not just glazing over of the pads, I know what that sounds like. This is SEVERE, NASTY, NAILS-ON-CHALKBOARD grinding. It sounds like I've got something caught between the pad and the rotor, but that's obviously not the case because it happens on & off.

I've got Bobcats, and they're not doing this. Do you have the OEM shims in place and some Brembo (or copper) anti-seize between the shim and the brake pads?

I have had the EXACT same problem, symptoms, and the problem going away. Just happened two days ago after braking hard for a stoplight. Was there any resolution to this?

No. I can add if you are running high friction pads like Carbotech XP12s or Project Mu HC800+ the grinding sound will fade in and out over time if you are street driving. On the track, you'll never notice any issues, but when used lightly, the pads can make some really ugly noises from time to time. Seems to be related to presence/absence of transfer layer.
