Oxidation from heat. Doesn't matter how the heat gets there - convection, conduction, or radiation won't make a difference.

^^ Nah... some members have already reported the same part failing with the OEM Exhaust as well... 
Darbs spends lots of hours Road Coursing / Racing his IS-F . Which is why his tips are bronzing..
Same happens to the "Silver" Lexus logos on the Brembo Calipers.. They turn Gold after a few race days.

No need to have the other one warrantied. I think i am going to have someone super tack weld each (4) tips so I never have to deal with the problem again.
