IS-F should be transformed into resurrected Supra
[/I]Seeing that the 5.0 v-8 is a "speciality" engine and used for a very low volume application, I'd love to see Toyota/Lexus resurrect the Supra and put the 5.0 v-8 in there with a 6 speed manual or a 7 speed double clutch.
Since I was a kid, I've always loved the Supra and was very sad when production stopped. I always told my wife that if they brought the Supra back, we'd have to consider it as my replacement car.
As much as I would love for them to use the 5.0 v-8, it seems that it might not fit the character of the Supra and a 6 probably fits the character more. Maybe a 4.0 inline 6 with twin turbos and direct injection.
Anyways, Toyota/Lexus, if you're listening, please bring the Supra back.

A resurrection would be very welcomed. Just look at the demand in between the end of the 2002 R34 Skyline GT-R and the 2008+ R35. The Toyota Supra has been one of the most iconic Toyota models, but even at its latest MY (1998), that puts it at about a decade and a half, and they still fetching quite decent offers. I'm sort of glad it went out of production because since then, demand for a new Supra has greatly increased over the years, as the case with the GT-R for Nissan. I just wish I could find one that hasn't been abused, tracked or overhauled- just a nice stock one would be perfectly fine for me.
I envy those who are able to have both the Supra and IS F in their stable.

I actually thought it would be a difficult but fun project to take the F's guts (from a junkyard wreck) and stuff them in a Supra. I'd really like all the amenities of the F in a Dawg...
If my Supra wasn't so original in so many ways, I'd seriously consider this.

Back to the topic. I'm still believing that Toyota will bring the Supra back as they're recently been talking about adding more sportiness to the brand and what better way to do that than resurrecting a well respected brand (Supra). Hopefully, if they do resurrect it, they don't do to it what they did to the MR-2 when they turned it into the MR Spyder. The MR-2 wasn't on the same level as a Supra but it def wasn't a Miata either. Once they turned it into the MR Sypder, they basically cyuts the ba!!s off and turned it into a Miata.
Maybe the next gen IS will be loosely based on an upcoming platform that will spawn the IS, IS-F, and Supra. Now that would be awesome.
No thank you to the FT-86 "baby Supra." No disrepsect. It seems like a cool car but I want a Supra.
