Default Sport Mode Only

Guys,

I've had the IS-F [ my newborn son ] out all weekend. What a beast. God does it make Mercedes and the AMG line look bad. Great cornering, excelleration, wow .... what a machine. I absolutely love it. Great speakers with the Mark Levinson dynamo.

I have not had the car in "sport mode", yet. If I keep the car in "sport mode" all the time, will this by any way hurt my engine?

All feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I wouldn't think so considering that "sport" mode is an electrical change.

You're not really driving an ISF with Grandma Mode.

Right after I start the car I put it in sport mode.

Driving in sport mode alone won't do any damage as long as you let the car's engine and trans get up to operating temp before you start driving it hard.

The only part of your car that will get hurt by keeping SPORT mode on all the time is your gas mileage.

Sure, in reliability, but not quite so with performance.

Sorry Boss ....

I disagree. After owning the CLS 63 for 4 years, it doesn't come close to the IS-F line. Cornering, turning, acceleration, for about $40k less. Sure, there is about 100hp difference, but you don't notice it in the IS-F. I'm kicking myself that I paid close to $100k for the CLS, and it blows the big one compared to my LS460 and my new IS-F. I'd never go back to a Benz, or any german car for that matter. Overpriced junk.

BMW sucks as well, I might add. No style, and year after year, more problems, and more butchering to the design.

The CLS63 is a totally different class of car. It's a 2 1/2 ton highway cruiser with a big *** motor. The ISF a sport sedan with better handling capability. A C63 or E63 would be the proper comparison for the ISF. And yes, German quality sucks. It was such a relief getting out of my E46 M3.
