Spark Plug replacement DIY? 2008 ISF
#91
I can’t find the post, but someone warned of getting counterfeit spark plugs off of eBay or wherever…
pretty sure it happened to me, but I read the post about 5000k after getting them put in and hoping mine were genuine Toyota.
This week, with about 8k on the plugs, my car first started with check engine and vsc etc. It then started to run really poorly.
I took it to Lexus and a plug broke. The only thing left in the engine was the threads. Not the plug broke off. Only the threads. They managed to get them out and I had them install new ones and yes it was pricey.
It’s been a while, but they were damn good counterfeits appearance wise right down to the boxes and plugs themselves.
Be careful because I’m 90% sure they were fake.
