Default Synthetic oil Interval

I just bought my 08 IS-F and it has 28k miles on it. I am guessing it has regular oil in it and I was thinking of switching to Synthetic. What is the interval you go after switching to Synthetic? Thanks!

I changed my Mobil 1 0w30 at 2000 and now change my Castrol Edge at 3000. I've had much better experience with Castrol.
You should be fine with 5k intervals if you don't drive like me lol

Mobil 1, every 5K, works out to be twice a year for me.

I switched to Synthetic @ 2nd oil change 4,000KM.

My oil change interval is every 4,000km with Motul 8100 5W40 and 300V (if have track day)

If you're going to use synthetic oil, the oil should last at least 10,000 miles. All you need to do is change the oil filter at 5k miles and refill the lost oil. Here's proof that 5k oil change interval is irrelevant with synthetic.

The major advantage of using synthetic will be the longer oil change interval. Hope this helps.

15000 miles with Mobile 1 Extended Performance and FRAM filter. I did an oil analysis after the first cycle of 15K and everything was fine.

No. 12k on Mobil 1 5w-30. See the Blackstone thread for details of performance. This includes track driving the car on a road course.
