Default I prefer geezer mode and here's why...

Guys, I have had the IS-F out a few times and prefer "Geezer Mode" over "Coke / Meth Mode" [ sport]

I seem to drift, or not have complete control of the car when I accelerate through a turn on Sport Mode. The car seems to actually drift. Am I doing something wrong? It'd be nice for Lexus to have a course that an IS-F owner can take to learn how to drive and speed in the car better. I love the Sport Mode because of the awesome torque and acceleration, but I am concerned about control, and don't want to end up 6 feet under too soon. With "Putz d(ick / Geezer Mode " I seem to have more control of the car, and when I accelerate on the turn, there is no drift.

Chow is confused. :-)

I'm thinking maybe Chow needs some new tires or a better understanding of his vehicles control dynamics - there is lots of car control/ vehicle performance driving schools in most major cities in North America - A few minutes on a skid pad should learn you accelerator control of your car.

Sounds like driver skills more than car capabilities at this point

"Drifting" all the time in sport time could be due the following:
1. Tires...if you have aftermarket wheels with less sticky tires, this can be a major cause of you losing traction in sport mode. Remember that the stock Bridgestones/Michelins were designed specifically for the IS-F. Even my current upsized Nitto Invo's are not as sticky as my smaller stock Bridgestones.
2. If you have a aftermarket rear sway bar you'll have more oversteer.
3. Driver knowledge...our F's have a lot of torque and you need to know how to control it.

That being said...I LOVE Sport mode. That is all...Darshana S...

yea ... you kinda have to be either really on the throttle, or went from 30% to 100% throttle and upset the balance to "drift" .. sorry OP, but seems like driver issues, the car grips and sustains turns nicely if you are being smart about things ..

Sport Mode all the way!

The F handles pretty well, even better in sport mode.

Been to the track and drifted the car. Street driving shouldn't ever drift unless your tires are crap. I drive in Sport mode all the time. I dislike the standard throttle control and prefer the quickness of the sport mode's throttle control.

Are you flooring it on every turn?

As long as you don't turn the traction and stability control off it won't matter anyway, unless you have no ability to drive whatsoever (I don't mean this in a negative manner). The IS-F's electronic nannies are quite good, and will keep you from drifting into the ditch unless you are purposely trying to crash. It will allow only so much "drift" angle before it steps in and intervenes.

I'd save up some cash and hit an autocross track, Have an instructor ride along with you so he comment on your style and hopefully improve it.
Worth every penny!
