^^ l'd love to see the Subie version of it. The FT-86's exterior styling is a bit too busy for me, although it's still a good looking car.

Mitch, I saw a "1M" (I thought it was an "M1" though, like M3) down here in Austin a couple of months ago. It certainly caught my eye. Before I got close enough to see that it was a 1M, I could already tell by body styling that something was different. I have to admit it looked pretty bad *** at first, but then I just looked at it like 1. It's still a BMW, 2. It looks like a chick car, 3. It kind of reminded me of Mario Kart --> legendary game, but that doesn't mean it's cool in real life.

btw, if you get rid of your F, can I have your headers and exhaust?

Reliability. There are countless stories on this on this board, and I have friends that have had personal, bad experiences with BMWs.

I think the M-series is sexy as hell looking, but I wouldn't count on one long-term. I'll take Toyota quality all day.

There is no doubt the 1 M is an amazing vehicle and with the open friendly chip mods and suspension mods from KW, this car is a killer.

The specifics from the 1M forum

BMW isn't in the 90's any more. Their cars are more reliable than you think now. Of course there's gonna that lemon here and there but that's with every car maker.

Actually its the +02 7 series thats leaving a bad taste in peoples mouths lol the only bmw i found reliable was the e39 body. After 2003 they went to crap. I dont know what model is reliable other than the 3 series?

BMW > than Lexus, except LFA

But then again who here owns LFA's to be out in the streets repping Lexus?

It goes, BMW M/Mercedez AMG, then Audi S series, then Lexus F. Those brand are always in discussion so i only provide those as reference. The fact is that lexus is falling behind, i own an is350, i personally would not drop 60-65k for an ISF....that's a joke seriously.

Super cars is a different story, but Lexus has it all wrong, you dont compete brands by super cars, since 2% of the population can afford your super cars. My order for super cars by these automakers including Nissan go like this.

Lexus LFA
Mercedes SLS
Nissan GTR
Audi R8
BMW M6

Porsche, Corvette, Ferrari, Lambo, are in a different class of car IMO. The reality of it , is that Lexus got old, maybe its their management that is just old.

Do you own a N54/N55 by any chance? This thread is about a 135 after all..

Just because your BMW doesn't have any problem doesn't necessarily mean every BMW out there doesn't have problems.

It is not the front styling that I have any worries about. As a matter of fact, the front looks great. BUT it is the rear, starting from the rear tire area and the back itself. This is the reason why it looks like a CHEAP CHICK CAR that everyone mentions. Please, no offense to the ladies. It makes it look small and deliberate in order to keep the price down, aka CHEAP. College chick car, is what I see all day or a little short on cash for an M3 if it's a dude driving. Just my $0.02.

As far as smokyis350 vs SRTGS300, the data from JD Power & Associates should end the discussion/debate or agree to disagree. My boss is a BMW enthusiast and also owns many previously. To him, he continues to love his BMWs and their engines, but agrees it's a hit or miss in regards to keeping one long-term due to reliability.
