It is 2011 now, any solution about installing a LSD for 08-09 ISF?

How much are the parts now? and hours for labour. Thanks.

Your best bet is to buy the assembled unit. The price difference is tiny for a fully assembled and properly shimmed differential. Install is pretty simple even if it is a bit of heavier work than some things.

Thanks for reply. I am in Australia now, a 08 ISF is about 85k without LSD
a 09 ISF (MY10) is priced 95k with LSD.

What I considering are which one is more cheaper and can a LSD be install into a 08model or not. I worry about the 08 cant install. I mean the design is different to the 10' model.

There is always an option for running an aftermarket limited slip differential. We have seen great results with OS Giken in many IS-F drivetrain applications. The OS Giken TCD LSD is a common choice in the Lexus community. There are a few members on this site that run this exact setup with nothing but great results. Feel free to PM me with further questions. You can also check out my thread with more information about the setup.

The LSD can be installed in any year. In fact, the LSD can be installed in any second generation IS. Given your choice, I'd take the '09. Here in the US there was no LSD until MY 2010.

The OEM unit will be great for anyone who isn't competing with the car. The clutch type LSDs are great for racing and for people who like to service their differentials. The OEM piece never needs anything but clean oil. The only real drawback to the OEM unit is if you get one rear wheel in the air, it will spin just like an open differential will. If you're routinely driving around and lifting the inside rear wheel, you've got other serious longevity issues you'll need to address as well.

guys looking at buying a 08 is... How much is the OEM unit... I saw on toyodyi it was about 2800$

That sound about right? The os Giken looked to be about 2500... Pretty steep change there!

The 08-09 whole differential "pumpkin" is about $2400.00

The 10-12 whole differential "pumpkin" is about $4800.00

I had a 360RWHP 6.0 GTO with true LSD...my 08 IS-F does a great job with the electronic LSD.

There has been times when it has fooled me into thinking its a true LSD, until I look down really quick and see the traction light coming on.

I could see replacing it if you are actively tracking the car, however on the street it might be a bit overkill to replace it.

Even if you're tracking the car, if it's an HPDE, you're not in it for lap times anyway, so it works fine. Doing the pedal dance to turn off the VSC is NOT recommended as it does disable the electronic LSD.

I would still like to have the Torsen diff though. Given the opportunity, I'd like to have the entire rear subframe with differential and suspension from a 2011 or 2012.

Aside form lap times it not about that, it's about the fun factor of hanging the *** out and leaving 2 strips of rubber... Why is the 10-11 pumpkin so expensive?

The 08 pumpkin doesn't include a LSD why would I need that?

The OS giken is 2500 just for the LSD unit right then I've got to pull the pumpkin and install it correct?

Sort of like KAZZ and what not for the mk3/mk4 supras....
