Default IS-F 's handling. Slow gear changing?

I saw a car test recently, found that IS-F 's gear changing is not that quick. it makes you cant have the best rev before get in the conner. It seems make sence but I want hear you guys opinion as well.

How is it feeling? is it really that slow? I doubt that cat test actually.

No. I drive my car at the track and I have no issues with the shift speed. Getting it in the right gear is really easy and quick.

What is your model? before 10' or 11'? you mean it is very quick(at least not slow) when you wish to change gears right?

do you have any modds or reflash ay setting? or its stock?

There are no mods for the transmission, but regardless, my car is stock and has never been reflashed for anything. Year and model are in my sig.

Depending on how aggressive you drive the tranny will shift quicker/firmer or slower/smoother. Whoever test drove that ISF probably did it like a granny.

Don't know what you read but its plenty quick. Upshifts as quick as 1/10 of a sec and rev matches when downshifting

ISF Transmission

At first I was like what is this guy talking about, slow wtf?

But I know what you mean now...put it into manual/sport mode and cruise in 5th gear. That'll keep you in the right range to down shift a couple gears to speed up then get into 6th and thats all you really need. But good luck with your mpg then....

The IS-F is plenty fast trust me...or you have high standards and need a lambo haha

here's the link of what the tester said but it's in mandarin, i am not total understand but i can get the general what he said.
http://www.youtube.com/user/buycartv.../0/8DIH3t4HJVU

maybe someone who good at mandarin can help us to translate.

in this video he tried to compare to C63 and M3.
"The reason why I think M3 better is the settting of electronic systems, the IS F is too early to intervene, eg. the IS F electronic system to intervene at about 80%(just for a example) but the M3 can let the electronic system to intervene about nearly loss control." Thats why he said and you guys can try to find out.

That's the stability control. Set to sport mode, it does not do this. In the standard mode, it's pretty aggressive about taking control when it thinks you're screwing up.

Shifting up/down 1 gear is really quick. When you're in 6th and want to go to 3rd, it takes a little more time and feels a bit laggy, but that's only because it's a sequential transmission. Overall, I would say the car shifts really quick.

100% correct. If you beat up on it it goes with the punches. If you slow step it it'll follow your lead

+10 to what everyone said! The car is equipped with a true tip-tronic and paddle shifters, unlike other cars. Shifts are quick as hell, and I'm gonna bring this up again... I really think I beat the E92 M3 last month because of the quick F shifts... he must have been manual.

OK guys, it's NOT tiptronic. Tiptronic is Porsche's trademarked marketing term. Lexus calls it Eight-speed Sport Direct-Shift automatic transmission with paddle shifters, Manual mode and torque converter lock-up clutch for gears 2-8.

So let's just call it Direct Shift....
