Default New Member ISF Driver, Feedback Needed

Howdy folks, just got a 2008 ISF yesterday and am loving it. However, I would like to get your feedback on the Matte Black Wrap on this car. It's White underneath and I am considering taking off the wrap. 40 some year old family guy here so it might be a little over the top. My wife thinks it's a little odd... Will I look like a dork or just a guy with a black car? Your Thoughts?

I am in a agreement with your wife as it does look a little odd and reminds me of the fleet of Ford Taurus automobiles in the Terminator movie series. You must have liked it, however, or you wouldn't have purchased it and instead have opted for another color, right? Can the wrap be removed without damaging the paint underneath? As to you looking like a dork, we will have to see a picture as a dork would look like a dork even if he was in a Ferrari (Just kidding and had to respond because you set yourself up.) Welcome to the family!

I say leave it for a bit. Then when you take it off, it will be like a new car again. Personally, I would not pay for such a wrap, and it sounds like wouldn't either. I do think it is cool looking and while its on there, might as well rock it for a while. Its also like a bra for your entire car.. can't get rock chips with it wrapped.

X2 - when you get tired of it, take one side off for a while

You can always wear your Darth Vader helmet when driving around ...

i say leave it on unless u want white and make sure u clear bra it. the wrap right now acts as a clear bra so u don't get any rock chips. wear ur darth vader helmet when u ride!

I think with some more aggressive wheels it would be pretty nice. I don't hate it at all, but I am a little partial to SFP. I think I would remove it. Congrats on the ISF btw!

I say keep it. If it's how it came when you purchased it, then it's a bonus to you. Rock chips, debris, bug bombs- your paint is protected. Should you get tired of it, then you'll have protected paint that hasn't been exposed to harmful stuff while driving. It looks cool to me, except for the F being located where it is currently. I know there were holes where the "LEXUS" emblem should have been, but I thought the wrap would've covered it.

Leave it until it has some wear and tear, then take it off... get your money's worth out of the wrap.

You might find out the paint is beat up underneath when you remove it and be faced with a different problem

This car is local to me and I had a chance to check it out last week.

I vote to take it off. All are valid points about pros and cons.

My honest opinion is that it was not a great wrap job. You can see the white way too much when you get up close and personal.

Before you tear it off, make sure whoever did the vinyl didn't hack up the clear coat with a razor. I've seen some horror stories of bad vinyl jobs.

I vote remove it. Matte black doesn't do Isf justice at all.
