Default Looking to Buy an F

So the is250 isnt cutting it anymore so i think it is time to move on to an F (big mistake buying new
-__-). Looking to get an 09 ISF obsidian or starfire pearl. Just wondering what the big differences are from 09 and 10. Possibly looking to install an LSD later on.

Currently looking at this one

10 has lsd, no difference in suspension between 09 and 10. pricewise and warranty wise i would opt for a 10. inspect the car thoroughly, i noticed most Fs that have been hitting the market have some body/paint repair work that do not show up on carfax and dealers are passing them of as in pristine condition.

2010 has 2 big advantages over 2009. Torsen LSD is one of them, the 2nd is the Gen 6 HDD based NAV. With options like XM Nav Traffic, XM Nav Weather and AUX USB input, it's a better choice all around.

my reason for getting an 09 is mainly price difference, i really could care less about the navi differences but its the LSD that i really want, reason for not getting an 08 is because i dont like the radio dash and the thing i dont like about the 10 is the steering wheel but that can always be changed, most likely will not be buying one until the summer hits so mayb 2010s will go down in price =X

-edit-

actually now that i think about it i wont be tracking my car so mayb lsd isnt really necessary..

True. I was looking to save some money by going with an 08-09, but then I saw that the 2010 was a beter investment/buy. Plus I love the 2010's rims!

I didn't know all the cool features when I purchased my 2010, but the upgraded 6HDD Navi is sweeeeet. Its even got bluetooth audio for music. I get into my car and tunes from my phone automatically will start back up on car speakers while the phones still in pocket. I haven't really played much via the USB input, but I often use the USB port to charge things.

I'm sorry but the thought of anything but an SSD in a car is too much like a disaster just waiting to happen. A platter disc is going to die. An SSD isn't.

I bought my 2011 new and I definitely don't think I made a mistake. Honestly, people are purchasing 2010's for around 50K. I paid 59K for my 2011 (no parking sensors) and the 9K difference wasn't a big deal to me when I put it in perspective. I think it just goes to show that the ISF holds their value unlike most cars.

I agree, with how much used IS F's are going for, I'd go straight for the 2011. Being the owner of both an '08 and '11, one huge advantage of the '11 is the steering feel which IMO is way better than the past iterations - it's much more Porsche-like as opposed to the heavy, BMW feel which I've never liked that much. Certainly I also understand people want to find value and save money wherever they can, but I think at the price point of used IS F's, it's just a better option to go for a new '11 - especially if you can haggle down the price a bit.

i meant it was a big mistake to buy a new IS250 lol, about to be 2 years of ownership and about to sell it...

kinda having trouble deciding on what year F to get, i like the 08-09 rims more and i dislike the 2010 steering wheel but all these things can be easily changed...my biggest dilemma is the LSD

first off im not all too familiar on what an LSD is until i researched it, so my question is will i be needing it if i dont track and only daily drive the ISF? i will be driving it hard from time to time when im bored but i can almost say with certainty that i will not be tracking...the price tag of an 09 and a 10 is about a 3-5k margin from what ive seen.

not 08s for me because i dont like the radio dash compared to the newer years and 11s are too expensive

You won't miss the LSD for daily driving. The only time it makes a big difference is at the track when the inside wheel lifts in a turn. The rest of the time it helps the car on track out, but again, if you're not on the track and you have problems you're probably driving dangerously fast for the street.
