If you want it to look OEM you need to remove the sunroof and the sheet metal and replace the sheet metal, headliner, and the upper center console. Those parts and the requisite labor will be very expensive even if you do it yourself. To get the headroom back, you'll need the proper headliner at the very least.
63111‑53050, 63102-53902, 63143-53010, 63103-53010, 63144-53020, 63111-53050, 63146‑53020 for the structural pieces.
63311‑53130‑C0, 63341‑53030, 63343‑53020, 63345‑53010, 63351‑53020, 63355‑53040, 66415‑53020, 66425‑53020, 81260‑53030‑C0 for the headliner and padding and ML audio.
All up about $3k for parts. Then you have to have them welded in and painted by someone competent. At least another $2k. If you don't do it this way, you'll still have to have the structure for the moonroof and that with the glass is the heavy part.

expensive. The time involved was lengthy as well.

Agreed. The labor involved to do this properly would make the cost of the parts required to do this look like a bargain. Many moons ago I lived in NY and worked for a shop that specialized in Supras (Paisley Racing) and we had the targa roof removed to quite a few Supras and it was
expensive. The time involved was lengthy as well.

LOL, I'm trying to turn my want into a need. Makes for a happier household....at least that's the theory.
