Default Anybody know of an IS-F for sale without a sunroof?

Looking to buy a used IS-F, but can not fit in with the sunroof...

I now they exist and are EXTREMELY rare. Just checking if anyone has seen any for sale. I keep checking autotrader and cars.com.

Thanks.

Good luck, that's what I wanted. I think a few years ago someone from Hawaii ordered one without Sunroof and Navi.

Would it be worth it to have the sunroof removed?

I would do this to a track car in an instant, but I think it would be daunting to do this with the expectation it will look like OEM. There have been Supra guys who have removed the targa and replaced it with the hardtop components, but it's REALLY expensive. Glad I bought mine without the targa from jump.

It's not worth it. Just get the sunroof. Why are you trying to find one without?

It takes over 1" of headroom, so I phyically do not fit. It's either driving with my head tilted at 45 degrees, finding an IS-F with no sunroof, or keeping my BMW which has more headroom

Believe me, I wish I did fit with the sunroof.

I got rid of a car for this reason! Luckily I have just enough room to drive the F with my helmet, but it scrapes the headliner.

Maybe the seat base can be modified. Aftermarket and racing seats might be lower if you can find one that doesn't sacrifice comfort.

I knew a guy who had to have the seat moved to the rear to fit into a Alfa.

How expensive are we talking and what all would be involved? I've thought about this before. The roof would be the best place to lose weight.

I dont see this tipping 2 grand if you do it yourself. Quickie: Remove components, create carbon fiber mold of your roof, install this on top in a way to completely cover the roof and seal it. You would always have that cover that can open/close inside. Think of it as a new glovebox on top of you, lol.

I think modifying or replacing the seat will be cheaper and less error prone than removing the sunroof.

Form and Function in one package.

If you want it to look OEM you need to remove the sunroof and the sheet metal and replace the sheet metal, headliner, and the upper center console. Those parts and the requisite labor will be very expensive even if you do it yourself. To get the headroom back, you'll need the proper headliner at the very least.

63111‑53050, 63102-53902, 63143-53010, 63103-53010, 63144-53020, 63111-53050, 63146‑53020 for the structural pieces.

63311‑53130‑C0, 63341‑53030, 63343‑53020, 63345‑53010, 63351‑53020, 63355‑53040, 66415‑53020, 66425‑53020, 81260‑53030‑C0 for the headliner and padding and ML audio.

All up about $3k for parts. Then you have to have them welded in and painted by someone competent. At least another $2k. If you don't do it this way, you'll still have to have the structure for the moonroof and that with the glass is the heavy part.
