Lexus ISF vs Aston Martin V8

Pretty sure the IS-F would win on a track, but I would choose the AM over the F in a heartbeat. Vantage is my dream

Lots of Lexus fan boys here!
I'd get an Aston in a heart beat. Over a Lamborghini, over a Ferrari, over an Audi R8.... Who cares about numbers, top speed ect. If you did, you wouldn't be driving an IS F lol! The Aston has class, and it has it in spades. IMO they are one of the sweetest cars on the road.

I was just having a convo with a friend of mine on how so many fantastic cars end up being 'chick' rides or 'douche' rides
Conti GT convert, Jags and AMs, the RR's, Jetta, Wrangler, SL, list can go on and on

I was at a trackday a few days ago and a guy I know had his AM Vantage there and it was sweet.... We weren't in the same driver class [novice (me), intermediate, and advanced (him)] so I wasn't able to see which was faster on the track.... But, his car is very nice and always had a big group of drivers around it oggling it... (mine got quite a bit of attention as well and many comments like "beautiful car", "that car is a BEAST!", "your car sounds AWESOME!", etc. etc... LOL )
He got a sweet deal on his, he bought it from a guy who had modded it and had $170,000 in it and sold it to him for $60,000 and only had 18k miles on it and a few years old... I wish that could have been my sweet deal

I know what you mean. I'm not offended and I didn't take it in a negative way. I agree with you and your friend though.

We aren't Lexus fanboys, we got our cars for various reasons... Sure I'd take an Aston Martin over the F anyday... it's easy to say that but what if you factor in cost? There are A LOT of other cars I'd consider over the AM... you're just paying for the name and prestige.

^^^ I think it's because SCCA permitted 4280 cc V8 at 2900 lbs, which is what the Vantage N24 is at. It was "potentially eligible for the SCCA Touring Car Class." Like many other of the cars, it didn't meet the technical rules.
