Default Track Day Video

I thought some of you who never track your F might be curious what it's like, so i posted a vid on youtube of one of my 20 min sessions from the other day...
If you haven't done it I (like others) highly reccomend you do at least once for the experience! It's a BLAST!! I've definitely got hooked my first time out. Enjoy!
(others with track video should add it to this thread!)

I'm definitely looking to upgrade the tires in the spring as there is definite understeer in most of the corners and I hope this will help.
The wind noise is cause you have to have the windows down on the track...

I did a track day two weeks ago at Road America (WI). This track is known for having the fastest straights with the slowest corners. Tires used, in the front Potenza's RE50's, 245 wide. Rear Hankook Ventus V12, 285 wide. Brake package Hawk HPS Plus in the front and stock in the rear. My ISF was fantastic!!!! I was running all day with modded Z06's

ISF was made for the track! Highly recommend doing a track day.

Corrected for truth. The F is fun at the track, but you'll get completely smoked by a good driver in a Z06 - even a bone stock one, C5 or C6.

.....

Doc looks like your having fun with the car. We have a track like that at Morroso down here, can't wait to hit it. Are you able to pass other cars? Or do you need more runs?

I definitely do the most passing out of the "novice" group... both days at the track I only got passed by the 911 race car you see in the vid, a cadilac cts v and a modded corvette zr1... otherwise it's all me passing others....

Don't get your head too gassed up. I passed a GTR in the green group, and got totally smoked by one in the yellow group. I have passed and I have been passed very convincingly by Corvettes. Trust me, the most important mod is to the nut behind the wheel, not the car.

If I were you, I wouldn't bother with more tire yet. You would be far better off learning to drive the car the way it is. I just finished watching the video, and you would have benefitted immensely from having an instructor in the car. A lot of the reason you're getting understeer is related to what you are doing, not what the car is doing. As you get more practice, or better still, get a good instructor, you'll learn what to do and what not to do to keep the car happy and not have it understeer so much.

There's no winning at an HPDE. If you want to win, you have to race - that's when the fast guys show up and school you bad.

Practice makes perfect. Side note, keep the RPM up in the happy range 5500+. Have fun and explore your limitation safely
