Default New ISF Owner

I will be ordering my new ISF soon (cant find an ultrasonic blue around). Had a few questions for owners. What do owners of the 2010-2012 ISF think of the 14 speaker Levinson stereo, I currently have an 07 Infiniti G35S sedan with the studio on wheels, I think the Infiniti has way more base (3 10" subs built in)but def not as clear as the Levinson.
1) In your opinion would you order the Levinson stereo?
2) for 2010-2012 how do you like your navigation (one thing I think Infiniti did right).
3) Has anyone taken their ISF to the track and how did you like it. I live not to far from summit point raceway.
Thanks new to the forum, Shawn

Welcome!

Mark Levinson is pretty common on F's. But the system itself is a nice step up from the standard Premium sound system.

The navigation is dated in terms of resolution/graphics as it is on all current Lexus navi equip models. But it does function well. Though it would be nice if it could be used while the car is in motion

I have a 2012 ISF and the Levinson sound is nice and clear and more balanced overall compared to standard option. I prefer the standard premium sound on my previous car, a 2010 IS350, since it has more bass. It just depends on what you like to listen to. Nav system is fine but not a fan of the lockout while driving.

I prefer the Lexus ML systems over the Bose pieces in the Nissan/Inifinitis. The Bose system has more bass but ML systems has overall better sound quality.

Sorry cant comment on the NAV

The ML system really sucks. When I played my first CD, I thought the speakers were blown. It's that crappy. Absolutely NO BASS. NONE. NADA. Mid-range is pretty crappy too. I thought this system had a dedicated subwoofer. WTF? As much as I hate Bose, those systems sound better.

Yes, the ML has a better sound quality over my Bose system in the G, the G does hit harder.

It ultimately comes down to personal taste.

Don't expect boomy bass from the ML system. They produce tight deep bass, smooth extended treble though you have to apply EQ to bring the SQ out.

First off congrats! You will love your ISF. I've had my 2011 since August and still love it as much as day one. As far as your questions:

1) Yes. The base isn't very good at all. I think the ML is still a horrible option for such a nice car but it works. You have to play around with the settings to make it sound acceptable. My previous car (10' Acura TSX Premium) had the best sound system I've heard, so it was tough switching to this one. But like the others have said, you get the car for the performance, not the audio system. You could always switch out the audio later on your own.

2) I think the Navigation is good. Needs updating but it works. I personally wish that they would do the 3d view like Audi's have now.

3) I'm taking mine to the track in about two weeks. I'll let you know.

Again, congrats! You will love your new car!

Bass - not that much, but it depends on who you are. For me, it's enough and I plan on not going deaf. For those that like to listen to a lot of bass heavy music, you'll need to upgrade. Navigation - it works ok. I rarely use it. Tracking - it's great but beware of tire and brake costs prior to going tracking. I think a dedicated 18" square setup would really save you a lot of money in the long run if plan on tracking a lot.
