Nice choice! I had a 2006 M5 for 3 months and could not stand the transmission. I bought it as a replacement for her GS 430 and wifey hated it. So she took my F and after a F months I got another one and we are big happy family now!

M5 is a beast but you are right on the MPG, I'll sacrafice and little HP for better MPG!

Hey, bud,

This is Ken Henderson from SF. Glad to see you on CL with your IS-F. I love mine. As always, your cars look great. As many times as I saw your beautiful black Supra in front of your house, I recognized the pics right away. All the best,

I dunno about this. I think I'd prefer the screaming V10 in the M5.
The M5 also has a unique look that announces its presence.

Can't go wrong with the ISF though.

Hey Ken, good to hear from you. I still spend plenty of time on SF and from time to time see some of the old-timers post. I'm definitely happy to be back in the Toyota family...

Very good choice...

I also used to drive an M5. A 05 Interlagos Blue in my case.

I think the ISF is a lot more fun actually, mainly because of the smaller size I think. And yeah, the fuel consumption of the M5 is horrendous... Also I have a better quality impression of the ISF.

The only things I miss with the M5 is the possibility to have dampers set softer, and also the Heads Up Display which sure beats the RPM "beep" of the ISF.

I hate to do this, but any more pics of the M5? That is one of the sickest I've seen (besides a matte black one in person)

Congrats! Unfortunately due to interior space reasons I had to go the other route, but I much prefer the ISF any day, and miss it like crazy.

Default M5 vs ISF

Congratulations and welcome! As far as speed goes, which car is faster, the M5 or the ISF? I guess "speed" is a little ambiguous. Which car is faster away from a stoplight? Which would win in the quarter mile? How about a good old roll off on the freeway? Road course?
