I'm not arguing with you or Smith about science facts I came in here to give the poster some hindsight as to his question about installing pads on used rotors. So Lexus is wrong about all of their TSIB's? The field rep that came up from Irvine and brought the first sets of updated brembo pads for my F (front) rears were already done and available...he verified my rotors were warped, the pads and a rotor turn were done under warranty. Keep in mind this was a Lexus engineer working side by side with a Lexus field rep gathering data and facts for future improvements and remedies. And yes cross drilled rotors can be cut, some say they can't but they can, one cut session on the F and thats about it, toss them next time around. The diagnostic specialist for Lexus I used to work next too also verified the shimmy as rotor runout before the engineer arrived to inspect and gather data on 3 different IS-F's for comparison all with the same condition. I can vouch for mine, my gf at the time can vouch for her's and the Diagnostic specialist for his, all the same complaint same conditions. Brake squeal is now fixed on the front and rear via updated pad material, thank you Brembo! Steering wheel shimmy was fixed by one pass on each side with the amazing on car brake lathe (Pro-Cut) which starts off at $9,700 new per machine and does a fantastic job.

To make that claim would be like saying blacksmiths arn't able to heat up metal and bend it accordingly. Same thing happens on rotors from constant heat and cool downs of the metal, wether it be wet or dry conditions as contributing factors; the metal takes a beating leaving it uneven over time. Unsubscribed from this thread this is ridiculous, was just trying to help the guy LOB.
