I'm also thinking of getting track pads.
What are the best ones out there?
Do I need to upgrade my rotors too, or the OEM will do ok with track pads?

OEM rotors are fine. I run Carbotech XP12 fronts and XP10 rears. It works on the track I run.

Is it enough just to change the front pads, or I have to change both?

How unbalanced do you want your braking to be?

I went with the stop tech pads and I am extremely happy with them. Great price and in my opinion they are better than the OEM pads.

For what purpose? We're talking about pads for track use.

I have not had them on the track yet but I did drive hard on them in for like 15 min and then did about 7 or 8 70-0 stops as fast as I could to get as much heat on the pads as possible(without going to the track) and they felt great to me. I know a few guys in VA that run this pad out at VIR and like that pad a lot.

VIR isn't all that hard on brakes. CMP is much harder on brakes - four hard braking zones every 2 minute lap. It has a reputation for being the hardest braking track in the Southeast.

It's just about impossible to get brakes racing hot on the street without having one foot on the brake and the other buried on the gas.

OEM Rotors are great rotors I'd just change out the pads to something more aggressive and be sure to change out your brake fluid to something with a higher temperature tolerance. I am a big fan of Motul RBF600 or RBF660, that will help a great deal with brake fade since the pedal will retain pressure.

Also remember that the more aggressive you go on the pads the operating temperature increases so cold braking wont be as good but hot braking will bite, so if you also daily the car it can be a pain sometimes.

I agree with you completely. Though i did my best to try and recreate a track on the streets. But they also dust a lot less so thats also a huge plus for me.

I've bought a set of Enkei/Toyo, HP+ pads and Ingen intake. Had to pay a bout a thousand more than I originally planed!
I'm wondering what else I should get now. Do I need anything else other than the Ingen intake as a first step of performance upgrade?
Is the Intake something I could install myself (without causing any serious damage to the vehicle) ? Never done any serious mechanical job before... I'm planing to start though
