Thanks for the replies. Just can't make the numbers work on this one unfortunately. I don't want to go longer than 60 months, and I don't want to pay more than $700/month. Otherwise I would pick up a brand new one at 1k/month, but my wife already grumbles at the current payment

I think my best bet is to wait 2 more years on the 350 lease, then look to buy a used 2011 F under 30k miles. Should be able to pull those numbers at that point being even or slightly ahead on lease, and putting 4-5k down on the loan.

I love my 350 so much it makes me want the F even more! I dare not test drive it for fear I would sign whatever they put in front of me

I agree with you to a point. A shorter term is always better for saving on interest costs as long as you can afford the higher payment. Of course it would be better just to pay cash to avoid interest charges all together!

The difference between a 5 and 6 year loan is only about $600 total at 2.9% APR. The payment difference is about $80 per month. For people more on a strick budget, $80 per might be worth it!

Don't forget about insurance too. I'm sure it'll be more expensive than the 350. The gas mileage is actually not all that different. At least that's how it is for me (I had an '09 IS350).

I didn't see any difference in insurance between my '06 350 and my '08 F. Both are not exactly cheap.
