Hmmm...maybe I should look into that $29,000 offer for my IS F.

Time to dump this biatch?

if ur under warranty they will swap it out for you but there is a fix for those who are not under warranty. this mainly affects black IS or cars that are parked outside under the sun too long.

here is the thread all about it...

I'm not sure if your 3rd party covers it. I would call or read the contract on what it covers. the unit itself will cost 2k-3k to replace plus the labor from the dealer. if they don't see if someone can do this for you that is local.

my nav screen broke too.
it would have been almost 3 grand without warranty.
you can turn off and on car all day not gonna help
you can control most things with out screen but it is annoying.
probably why the new cars don't have touch screen any longer

Lexus just gave me an update on the dead navi screen. They are replacing the whole unit for $300. Not bad for a car thats really past the warranty.

Go Lexus!

same thing happened in my IS350.

it was expensed as "dealership goodwill".

there is a CL member in southern california who fixes the dead nav screen as a side gig.

Yeah my nav screen touch functionality went out a few months ago as well. I was out of warranty but the dealer did take care of it at no cost to me as "goodwill" like another member listed above.

Yeah I used out of my "goodwill" services since they changed the idler belt pulley and the belt for free.

I kind of wished they did the navi for free but you can't win them all. I typically would raise hell just to get it waived but I like my dealership and would like to continue to give them business in the future instead of burning bridges.

im guessing it was covered by warranty and 300 is the deductible?
my car is going in for diagnosis tomorrow morning. really wouldnt mind paying 300 for a brand new unit.

My car is way past warranty. Also I checked, they are not changing the whole unit (I'm assuming you'd have to re calibrate everything. So they're just changing the screen (which is the only issue this system has and I'd rather prefer).

So $300 for a new screen, labor and warranty on the unit is good for me.
