Default Which oil?

I know there are a couple threads out there on this already but I have a more specific question. I use only Shell 91 Octane gasoline in my ISF and am looking now to do my own oil changes. First off, what brand does Lexus use, is it Mobil? Second, is it best to keep to the same brands, like only Shell Oil if you use Shell gasoline? And finally, which oil is the best synthetic out there? Thanks guys!

This could be debated all day. I'll just tell you my thoughts. Mobil 1 5W-30. Easy to get, relatively cheap (Costco/Wal-Mart, etc.). Every 5,000 miles with Toyota filter. I'm sure there are better oils, I'm sure I'm probably changing too often (based on those that do oil analysis), but hey it will get the job done, it's more than recommended by Lexus and for a daily driver it takes care of my piece of mind. YMMV.

This is what I have been doing with all of my cars. I know at the infiniti dealership, they give you an option of castrol conventional oil for a cheaper price or mobile 1 synthetic for a little more. I would assume Lexus is the same way. I also get my mobil 1 synthetic at walmart since its around $23 for a 5 qrt jug. I also purchased a case of OEM oil filters of Sewell for a really good price as well. You could definitely save some money if you do your own oil changes.

Just going with what the dealer puts in, which only happens twice a year!

Mobil 1 here. On a side note, I've notice a increase in MPG when I went from conventional to synthetic.

Royal Purple synthetic is the only brand I've used in the past six years. Previous car 05 STI, now the F. Engines have seemed to love it so far.
