Default Wheel opinions

Hey guys,

I got an offer to purchase another CL members wheels. They are Volk VR G2 in flat black. I believe the specs are 19 x 9.5 +35 in the front and 19 x 10.5 +35 in the rear. I am very tempted because the deal he offered me is hard to refuse. Anybody have any input on these wheels? personal experience? performance? Thanks in advance!

If your getting a good deal on Volks, I would jump on them. Your getting quality wheels. Performance should be better if they are lighter then our stock wheels. Experience can't really comment on that but I'm sure there is a handful of Volk owners on the forum that will probably chime in saying good things. Other then that the styling on the wheel is not my taste but that is my opinion. My thoughts might change if they are actually on the car so I can see how they look. Good luck!

Those are face two type series in the picture (deep-dish) . You may to verify first what type you are buying? Face 1 type are not deep dish.

Not too sure what kind of fender work you will need to make these fit:
19 x 9.5 +35 front
19 x 10.5 +35 rear

I have VR G2 face 1 that I bought from Linkseal and my specs are very mild:
19 x 8.5 +45 front
19 x 9.5 +45 rear

T-Rex06 also runs 20's on his car, but I do not know his specs - here is a pic of the Face 1 he has.

I'm still waiting for tires and pot hole repairs to the city roads, as the snow is just melting here, but have run Rays rims on my previous Lexus and have always loved them....so I can only look at them for now sitting in the basement.

Its such a personal thing, but they are strong, dependable and durable rims that are light weight, so I really won't notice much in drivability/ form over function.

I can tell you I will love cleaning the brake dust a lot more easier than the BBS stocks that used to cut my hands up getting into the nooks and crannies!

Bryan,

Since you brought up VR G2, one of my fav Volks, I would like to share some info and hope it helps.

As member Digger08 pointed out, I was on these setup before: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/6738618-post31.html

19 x 9.5 +35 (Front) and 19 x 10.5 +35 (Rear) will work, but I am sure you need some fender work, and running stretched tires, which I personally don't want.

If you are OK with fender work and stretched tires, go for 19 x 10.5 +45 (Rear) instead of 19 x 10.5 +35 (Rear), also FYI, I tried 19 x 9.5 +45 (Front) and it hit the KW V3 reservoir under full lock after lowered. 19 x 9.5 +35 (Front) should be fine but need to be tested.

Type 2 looks hot if you can go aggressive offset, which is not the case on IS-F (unless you force it to be). I will get Type 2 on others such as Nissan, and we are talking about 10.5" +10~15 offset there. 20"? Not for me, unless I have GT-R.

Sample pic from my friend's 370Z -

So Type 1 for me. I missed my G2 that sold to Digger08, so my new set is coming and will post pics once they are on.

Link,

These wheels are actually coming from an IS-F owner. I believe the only thing he said that would be needed to fit the wheels was shaving or rolling the rear. Other than that he did not mention anything else to me, but I will have to double check. The main reason I am considering these wheels is the price that they are being offered to me for. Thank you for the info and post pics when you get your new set up in!

^ Yes, I believe shaving the rear is a must, it also depends what size of tires you are going to run.

Keep us update.

Performance wise they will perform better than stock as they are light, They are also a forged wheel and are pretty damn strong.

Looks wise i think they look good but i prefer the orginal TE37 better, you will def need to roll you rear fenders to run that 10.5 +35
