I cracked an HRE when I hit a huge ridge in the road where they were doing road repairs at high speed it was about 4am and I was going way to fast and didn't see it until it was too late, I actually thought I would have more damage I hit it so hard. I just had a small hairline crack, I tried to have a local shop repair it twice and it kept cracking. To take a step back farther I bought the wheels used, took them apart, refinished them. I sent them back to HRE in pieces to get a new inner barrel, HRE warrantied it and replaced the inner at no charge. The wheels were repaired, refinished, 2nd hand, over 5 years old and sent to them in pieces and I wasn't trying to get warranty... Try that with the Japanees wheel companies, as a matter of fact try buying a single replacement wheel and you are on a year long waiting list. I do love all of the wheel brands you listed and have had several sets of Volk and BBS as well as other good brands but they have their issues as well.
I will admit HRE are not for everyone but with the couple sets I have had the customer service is above and beyond.
