Haha, it was more out of protection. I had originally painted my AutoCouture lip black to match the rest of the car. Between sharp inclines in my driveway (even after re-doing it), really huge speed bumps, and not wanting to take a chance by accidentally nicking anything when parking, this solution was pretty much the best of both worlds for me. I see people liking the CF or even gloss paint on their lips, and while I like that a lot- trust me, if I didn't care about expensive/discontinued parts, I would've left it painted- but bedliner spray is what my shop used, and I kid you not....no way is that thing ever cracking, peeling, scratching, or even getting dented. Meanwhile, it pains me to read and hear about CF weaves that have been compromised because of road debris or those sharp inclines. And for the most part, no one has replaced it exactly the same; some have painted over, others wrapped, and others just don't deal with it altogether. I've dealt with some road debris before, and this thing works. It's not exactly the prettiest thing to look at, of course, and I expect no one to really be in favor of it. But it saves me from a lot of self-hating, grief, and headaches. Zero regrets with this protection spray.

As for the wheels, they were quite dirty from spirited driving. The finish is actually Volk Racing's own Prism Dark Silver, a multitude of colors that arise at any given angle when the wheel is kissed with a hint of light. A full detail needs to come soon, since the locals have been asking for a gathering.

Just a few minutes working with any metal polish and wipe off with a microfiber rag will do it. Nothing fancy. They all work about the same in my opinion.
