Just picked my IS-F up from being fully detailed, paint corrected and graphene coated.

I've always kept the paint in very good condition by using proper washing and drying techniques, but minor swirls are inevitable so I figured I'd invest in a full detail and graphene coating to make it as mint as possible.

* 3 Stage Paint Correction (wet sand, cut & polish).
* Two layer Pearl Nano graphene coating.
* Wheels and glass graphene coated inside and out.

Busy last few weekends..

Rims received a deep cleaning and removal of all old wheel weights & adhesive.. Lots of elbow grease, nothing magical worked..!!

Rear OEM rotors still doing great after 6 years on the old Project Mu pads..

I was very amazed at how well these tires balanced with little / minimal weights and one rim took none whatsoever… My tire shop “Tire Central” did a flawless install..
Just need to drive on the new Yokohama ADVAN Apex tires and get it all dialed for a wheel alignment next weekend.

Now prepping for this weekend, Front Brake work..!!

Can’t wait to finally get it off the jack stands after 6 weeks…

Looks good! Be sure to spray the top of the rotor hat with high temp paint so it doesn't rust. Why the Lexus rotors come from the factory with the entire hat painted but the Brembos do not is beyond me. They even paint the side of the hat, it would take 2 seconds for them to paint the top.

That fog sure looks like Sack of Tomatoes! I lived there 24 years, but moved to GA in 2007. Sac Raceway was always fun.

We could not see the time-board because the fog was so thick at 12:00pm . The staff delayed the start time to 1pm and the fog cleared by then.

My first time rebuilding (new seals and oil) a set of shocks. Overall very easy with these Afcos. I bought these used so figured I would freshen them up.

Will do…!! I’m coming off heavily worn Conti DWS in the rear and original like new band aide 2008 Bridgestone tires I had on the Fronts.. Had to slap those on as a emergency just before Covid hit..

Looking forward to the new tire feel / ride.

Will also be providing OE equivalent Brembo brake pad feedback as well.

Still need to take her around the block for its first drive of 2022..

Of course I got the car off the jack stands today and it started raining.

Will be doing a proper brake pad bed-in procedure, test out the tires and getting some gas

.. as soon as the roads dry up

Still looking fresh with 180K miles & 13 years of “F” ownership

Were you able to measure the bores of the bodies for wear? That would be my chief concern for inexpensive shocks like these. If the bodies are hard chromed inside, then not so much a worry, but I doubt at the price point they have that they are hard chromed.

@Joe Z Interested in your impressions on these tires too. :-) Rear's 26.6in nominal diameter seems remarkably apparent vs the front's 26.1in. Yoko's are kind of an "artisanal" tire brand, unique in how they provide references for two different balancing methods. Nice job by Tire Central, yellow dot exactly on the valve stem. Will they completely hand-thread on request, or do they impact gun then hand-torque like America's Tire?

Back in the day my funnest times at Streets of Willow were on AVS Intermediates and A520's. Navigated a serious rain storm in No Cal on the A520's in complete confidence. Great tires, but they wore and plasticized quickly.

Ever try Stoner's Tar and Sap remover? I tried it after watching video below, and it is an awesome product. The iron-bonding wheel cleaners like Meguiar's or Griot's Heavy Duty take care of bonded-on brake dust, but Stoner's removes adhesive and tar like nothing else. I put down a sacrificial cardboard sheet before using the iron-bonding stuff to avoid purple stains on the driveway.
