Were you able to measure the bores of the bodies for wear? That would be my chief concern for inexpensive shocks like these. If the bodies are hard chromed inside, then not so much a worry, but I doubt at the price point they have that they are hard chromed.
I think the bodies are anodized inside and out I'm not 100% sure. Visually I did see some light marring on the rears just over halfway down the body. Also the rod guide bushing had a little wear. Fronts looked good. I wasn't able to measure the bore down where the marring is because my telescopic gauges are not long enough. AFCO sells pretty much every replacement part on their website.
Yeah, they're very likely anodized inside and out. The bodies would last longer if they were hard chromed inside, but that would raise the price pretty significantly. I'll assume they expect you to purchase a new body when they wear out.
@Joe Z Interested in your impressions on these tires too. :-) Rear's 26.6in nominal diameter seems remarkably apparent vs the front's 26.1in. Yoko's are kind of an "artisanal" tire brand, unique in how they provide references for two different balancing methods. Nice job by Tire Central, yellow dot exactly on the valve stem. Will they completely hand-thread on request, or do they impact gun then hand-torque like America's Tire?
Back in the day my funnest times at Streets of Willow were on AVS Intermediates and A520's. Navigated a serious rain storm in No Cal on the A520's in complete confidence. Great tires, but they wore and plasticized quickly.
Ever try Stoner's Tar and Sap remover? I tried it after watching video below, and it is an awesome product. The iron-bonding wheel cleaners like Meguiar's or Griot's Heavy Duty take care of bonded-on brake dust, but Stoner's removes adhesive and tar like nothing else. I put down a sacrificial cardboard sheet before using the iron-bonding stuff to avoid purple stains on the driveway. https://youtu.be/oQqzs4uH_98?t=716
Yes my deep wheel cleaning was after 5 years or more of neglect and non cleaning of prior adhesive strips..
I ended up using some paint polish cleaner to get off what was stuck inside the barrels.. The outside always cleaned up fine..
I think you got lucky on the ones I sold you they were much cleaner / low miles..
That finally ceramic coating process for the wheels in that YouTube video looks like something I should look into..
@ChpEng This last time I took the wheels to them off the car as it was up on stands.. just working it on occasional weekends.. When I took my wife’s Honda there a few weeks ago, they also dialed in the Yokohama’s onto the yellow dots and even on the IS F wheels they took their time to get them perfect..
Tirecentral uses low impact battery powered guns, the finish all their wrenching by hand with their Torque Wrench… I never had a problem there with any mounting marks or lug nut issues.. They take their time and normally take extra notes for special requests..
I will be going back this weekend to dial in the alignment there..
I still need to take the F out for first test drive, re torque my install, get gas (on fumes) and bed-in the new brake pads..
Got about 20 miles in just now.. I can say I’m happy with the tires soo far..!!
Feels great to get back into Summer Tires. Definitely grippy on the curved fwy on/off ramps..
No rubbing even with my slightly lower stance.. Even on Fwy speed dips..
Will need to do a full clean up on wheels, bed-in procedure made a mess with the new Brembo Rotors & Pads.
Very good initial bite similar to the OEM spec, but not exactly since these are nano ceramic.
Love the look of the Vland headlights. I wish I could see how well they work. I really like the LED headlights in the GS F, and wish I could get those in my IS F, but that would be difficult at best.

They seem a bit brighter than my 09 lights. But I have bad luck and already have an issue with only owning them for about 6 six months. One of the bulbs on the left headlights has gone out already. Customer service is great so far with quick responses. They want me to send the barcode thats on the headlights to confirm but I've been too lazy to deal with it.

It's pretty nice and i think it add more subtle aggressiveness to the car. Lmk if you guys want more pictures from any angle.
I took this over the summer after getting new wheels. Went with a square setup on Flow One F4 in 18"x9.5" w/ Potenza S-04 275/35 this time.
Car has about 352k (not a typo) miles when this was taken.
^^^^Not to hijack this thread, but I ran S-04s on my ISF. I ran RCF wheels with 255/35/19 and 295/35/19. IMHO, they were a GREAT tire. Handling was fantastic and the tires were very quiet. They replaced Conti DWs which I absolutely hated. I'm running PS4S on my LC and luv those also. But, if the S-04s were available in the 21" sizes my LC takes, I would be riding on Bridgestones.
