^ Haha, I don't think I have ever been done with a car, even though I like to tell myself I am. I think the fun is in lying to yourself.

I see you're in NZ too! Where do you get any OEM or IS F specific parts from usually? I'm quite new to the IS-F and so trying to see where best to get stuff from here in NZ for a 2011..

Thanks man, yep I'm in NZ. Most of my parts come from overseas. Lots of time spent finding them and lots of money in freight, but all worth it in the end

Manual swap anyone?
Kidding kidding, it's still an auto. I found a manual IS250 being wrecked and thought it would be cool to retrofit the manual console into it.
The original plan was to install the handbrake, which a couple of guys in the US have done in the past, but on my Japanese model nothing lined up where it mounts to the trans tunnel, so I decided to scrap that idea and inverted the leather handbrake boot to make it into a phone holder 😅
The rear parking brake shoes probably wouldn't have been up to the task of locking the rear wheels during a drift anyway, so may look at doing a hydraulic handbrake one day that tees off the actual brake calipers. For now it looks cool and is definitely a bit different. I removed the 6MT sticker so it's not too tacky and have played around with a couple of different shift *****. The OEM 3IS style looks the best so I'll buy a carbon one of those with red stitching to match the seats and steering wheel 👌

I'm curious, did you encounter the valley plate leak issue with any of yours and whereabouts did you get it fixed if you did have to? Trying to find some reliable folk who can look at it if/when l need it

Neither of them yet (touch wood). My first 2011 one I had developed the valley plate leak a year after I sold it (happened at 170,000km) but luckily had a Lexus extended warranty and it happened 1-month before it ran out, so the new owner got it fixed for free. Lexus of Auckland City would be who I recommend as they have a done a bunch of them. Expect a 3.5-4k NZD bill though.

Thanks for the recommendation - yeah the official Lexus service centre seems the safest bet isn't it, given the size of the job.. that cost sounds about what I was expecting too. Mines at almost 103,000km, just in from Japan. I almost want to consider getting it proactively fixed before I encounter the leak - I assume that can be done
