Typically, though not always, the first all-in dyno run will produce the most power, with subsequent runs producing less with the onset of heat soak. Testing in 6th gear first and then 5th in one session and 5th gear first and, then, 6th in another session would be the way to do this. Still, can someone explain why the 5th gear dyno runs are considered inaccurate, whereas the 6th gear runs are considered accurate? Is it solely because guys on here think accurate power numbers can only be acquired when the gear ratio is 1:1? Please explain and TIA for the input.

I actually got numbers just a few higher than this with my JoeZ exhaust/intake and ive heard that turning off your engine in between runs will prevent higher numbers. Is this true?

Actually I had three runs with just minutes in between, 5th gear being the last one, and also the higher number. First run was higher than second, both on 6th gear.
