Nice videos. Looks like you had a good time with the F! It's really surprisingly good for a heavy four door sedan.

^Thanks so much for your advice on alignment, tire pressures, and TC off. I really was positively shocked.

I love to be the underdog and surprise people. I'll look forward to taking the F out again against local P-car friends.

Very nice cars, however I still believe that there is no way an IS-F could hold a candle to an GT3

Meaning that the GT3 is way above an IS-F.

THANK YOU for sharing your personal reviews and the videos... I've always wondered how our F's would stack up next to a GT3....I had one on the freeway trying to race me last week (but this one was caged, had exhaust, suspension work, etc). Didnt even attempt to do anything since its not worth it.

I'll find out more as I am curious. However, driver skill differential will be a huge source of error. So, when I am comparing my own times with both cars, I am shocked at the small difference.

However, my hypothesis is that I am able to keep up with if not be faster than a 2007/08 997.1 GT3 on MPSC's at this Ridge Track. I say that as I am guessing how much quicker I am in my 2010 997.2 GT3 versus the 997.1 GT3s that were around and I think it's about the same.

I'll try to document more next time. I just signed up for April 27th back at RMSP and know my friend with his prepped 2010 GT3 RS will be there. I was quicker than him with my GT3 last time (I attribute that to having an instructor show me his line for half a day while my friend did not opt for instruction).

=) Apples and Oranges.

The F is really surprisingly competent. On a track that rewards torque and horsepower, it closes in pretty well to the GT3. The GT3's tall gear ratios don't do it any favors as well.

As for the fun factor, you get to be a pretty good driver if you can heal-toe, trail brake, and manage your line in a GT3. The ISF is MUCH MUCH easier to drive quickly. Depends what you are looking for. The GT3 is the most fun you'll have on 4 wheels - certainly not the quickest car out there, but that's never been its goal.

Great job in F, may helps all those naysayers change there mind when it comes to how F can perform on track, that this area doesn't only belong to likes of M3, P cars and other. With right tires and skilled driver IS-F can truly be fun and competitive track car keep up good work

FUN FACTOR - I would take my ISF out to terrorize people. Everyone I passed felt pretty embarrassed. You guys would have loved the comments from everyone after the first session. "So, that's a Lexus?!"; "What is that car? It's really quick?"; "You must be on R-compounds, modded, etc..." It was pretty funny.

Your right it's fun being the under dog and look on peoples faces must have been priceless when they saw that four door lexus past them keep us posted on your next track day on april 27.

^2010 stock w/MPSSs.

I WAS a "naysayer" with the MPS1's. I had zero confidence in the car and drove it like I used to drive the Acura TSX daily driver. Just get me to A to B without any issues. Then I invested in some MPSS - WORLDS of difference. Made me dislike to LOVE the car. I finally felt a connection with it.

Will keep you guys posted on April 27th with more videos.

I just got my upsized width MPSS put on today and DEFINITELY noticed an improved difference in: Ride, traction, confidence in high speed turns compared to my prev OEM Potenza RE050's.... I'll find out in two days how much better they are at the track as well ... (in addition to the Carbotech XP10's and 8's brake pads over stock pads)

^ Awesome! You can Feel and hear the MPSS at the limit. It was as loud as my GT3 at WOT. Lol.

I just ordered StopTech front and rear pads too. Do share your video! Have fun and drive safe!

I shared my 10 minutes of depression video for my friend in the Red GTR. Z06, Grand Sport and Race prepped Cayman were all notably quicker than I was. First time I feel so inadequate in the GT3 with 317lbs/ft of torque on low speed turns. I'm going to get a drink now,...
