I purchased my lease, back in December. 2008 with 15K miles. My walkout price was $33K. Nothing like getting a car that is already tweaked to your specs and know you are the only driver the car ever had.

Flea thanks for your post. Searching through the forum I believe I saw 3 different posters saying their lease buyout was 33-35k. Juanca is stating 37-38k is the norm - Anyone have a grasp at the true average buy out? I would be embarassed to start negotiating and saying they got the car for about X, so I will offer you Y only for the dealership to come back and say they paid on the high end of this spectrum.

Again, thanks to all that have posted. I am having the dealership attempt to buff out a few scratches on the front bumper for me and then I will do a once over in a day or two and try and bring the car home

I got a great deal from the start. Since I got it in December of 08, they were trying to dump them and start pushing 09. I also purchased 3 other cars through the same dealer over the years. The negotiated price at the start was $52,500 out the door. Hard to compare to what most people paid during 08 for their car.

I got my CPO 08 nav, for $45k otd when they were asking $45k before tax and license in summer 2011. So I got the car for $42k pretty much. IMO I think you can probably do around the same.

The buyout depends on what residual was used upon contracting the lease. The residual depends on the mileage chosen by the driver. It also depends on the original MSRP of the car.

The CPO warranty costs the dealership $1000. Typically recon costs are $2-$3k.

I want to thank everyone for their feedback. I made an offer just shy of 40k and it was rejected. Dealership wanted 42.5k, and "claims" they have 40k into the car. I walked out, and only time will tell if they give me a call to come back in..
