Rmi scoops review

It should be relatively easy to make one, especially if you know how to bend/weld metal.
I installed mine this morning while I was waiting for my car to warm up! lol Took about 6 minutes total...but of course, I didn't have any extra washers and I didn't scrape any of the paint off of the scoop so my horn isn't working properly right now. I'll pick up some washers today and throw them on and hopefully that'll solve it.
First impressions of the scoop after install... Minimal to no gains from a dead stop acceleration. Since I commute a total of 50+ miles to and from work Monday through Friday, most of my mileage is from stop and go traffic. When going over 40+ mph and passing cars, the car feels a little more responsive. Obviously the faster you go, the more air is being diverted into the air box.
I'll have an updated review on my mileage at the end of the week when I have to fill up again. Before I had the scoop installed, my tank averages have been around 21.3 mpg. We'll see if this changes at all as advertised.

My transaction was posted on April 11 and I haven't received my set. I also ordered a DES exhaust system at the same time, so I don't know if they will ship together. I'm not in any hurry since my F won't be in until June 15.

Hey everyone,
well we've got some good and bad news...
bad news first...the 10 unit run for the $150 shipped was sold out after about 2 hours
good news is we've decided to go ahead and do 2 more 10 unit runs after this first batch is completed, at the original $150 shipped price
this means that the first batch will be shipping out on April 20, 2012, then 2 weeks there after (May 4th, 2012) we'll have the second 10 unit run ready to ship, then 2 weeks after that (May 18th, 2012) we'll be shipping out the final 10 unit run
we decided it to schedule it this way to make sure we can deliver on time
as I answer your PMs, I will be letting you know what day your order will be shipping.
more updates coming soon!!
thanks for all the support and enthusiasm

HAHAH thanks man! I realized that after I took the shot and put down the hood. I could not be bothered to open it up again or edit the photo on my iPhone which takes all of 20s. But it was finally a nice day down in VA Beach so I had to rock the flip flops.
Also my average miles to the gallon have been around 16 for the last 3 fill ups hahaha I don't think these scoops are going to help me, especially since its getting nice out. Also while down at the beach with all the ladies out you have an obligation to floor it, they say they don't like when guys do it, but we all know the truth.

I'm in the Norfolk area must have missed the post about these coming up for sale. Any idea of how to get a set now? I commute quite a bit down to border of north Carolina and would love any boost in mileage and highway pedal response. Also are there alot of F owners in the area? I have only seen one and it was Obsidian hoping to see more but no luck so far.
