Default Street 0-60 Times - Game ON!!

My son and I have had some fun recently running some 0-60 runs from a light and timing them. The only problem is that I don't have anything to compare the numbers to. I only have the intake mods of a JoeZ pipe and Tom's filter along with the RMI Scoops. I have done 3 runs as my son has timed them and they are as follows:

5.4 - full auto, sport mode, traction control on, VSC on
5.3 - same
5.0 - full auto, sport mode, trac off, VSC off

I really want to run under 5, but the biggest thing that I notice is the fly by wire delay after I step on it.

Game on!!!! Please post all numbers good and bad so that we can all compare. Also, if anyone has some mad skills, please pass on some driving skills/tips to improve our times.

Thanks, be safe and have fun!

M mode with paddle shifters is faster than full auto.

Its only 0-60! On most highways thats about the speed limit.

a race generally takes more than one person, and OP never mentioned it being down town, or at a busy intersection.

My old man used to punch it in his camaro when I was a kid, 500+ hp, I loved it and turned out alright.

I ran a 4.4 in Seattle, but have not been able to get it under 4.9 in Calgary. Elevation is definitely a factor, and I also found wider stickier rear tires helped significantly from stock.

Sport mode, manual both times.

Seriously? He's doing 0-60mph from a stop light, not racing another car. Probably less dangerous than merging onto a freeway..

What are you using to measure your times? Most magazines, etc use more than just stop watches.

It's a very technical solution.... when my son feels the car move or the light turn, he hits start on his ipod touch and when he sees 60 he stops. Can't get much more accurate than that !! I know there are some OBDII apps that will connect and time, but I don't have the dongle or a good app to use. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have your son download dynolicious onto his iPod touch. Enter your car weights, specs, drivetrain loss and it will measure your 0-60 using its gyroscopic motion sensors. It can actually give you a rough estimate of he and torque as well.

There have been some very close estimates as well

Sounds like fun OP. I really want to invest in a VBox but they're so damn expensive. And how high up are you in Virginia?

Seriously. If your on private property do what you want. When your in public i.e (an intersection with a light as the OP stated) its incredibly irresponsible.

I did a 4.4 a few weeks ago measuring the same way. I know I can do better now with my wider tires though

I have a Kiwi Wifi (OBDII sensor with wifi) and will be headed to the track this Saturday. I'll try and remember to try this out.
