Default Question: Toms Drop In Filter

Is the Toms drop in filter re-usable, or will I have to purchase a brand new filter every time after "X" amount of miles? I've only used K&N air filters on all my previous vehicles and have always loved the convenience of cleaning the filter then using their aerosol recharger without ever having to purchase a new filter. If the Toms drop in is re-usable, then which cleaner/recharger is recommended to be used with it? Thanks in advance.

Gil

They are reusable, just dust it off after each oil change or something.

Better yet, rinse it with water and let it dry and clean out your intake tube and box, reinstall

Yes, reusable. However for a product with the same quality and benefits for much cheaper, I would suggest you consider the aFe dry filter:

This aFe Dry filter says: It is washable and reusable for multiple cleaning cycles. This high flow, oiled OE replacement performance filter will out flow stock paper filter for improved horsepower and torque.

Why does is it called dry if it is "oiled"? To clean something like this do you have to oil after washing?

I've used the aFe dry filter for thousands of miles and it worked great! Performance-wise I never felt a difference compared to the OEM filter though. What made me go back to OEM is that in the same period of time (at every oil change) the OEM filter had captured way more dirt than the aFe, so as a filter it was doing a better job.

It's a mistake in the listing at Amazon. I can confirm (as well as others here) that the Pro Dry S filter is indeed DRY with no oil.
