thanks but i am not out of the woods yet Every move i make can mess up the last move i made or the move after this move LOL - I gotta make this thing secure and functional while making everything easy to remove if i need to get to the amps or anything else below the glass...even the NOS bottles. Its challenging but i hope i can pull it off!! thanks man!

Damn that looks great!

With car stereo, what are the latest materials people are using to save weight? Are the MDF boards just templates that will be eventually fiber-glassed? Thats A LOT of wood!

What are you doing about power? Upgraded alt or just batteries?

ok guys, i have a confession to make. I was so excited about my trunk looking as good as it did, i failed to shut the trunk ALL the way before i took video, pics, and then took it all out and left for the day. The next day i put the side panels back in and then tried to shut the trunk. It only stopped short 8" LOL - WOOPS. The hinges do NOT hit, they pass through very smoothly.....but where the hinges attach to the trunk lid, it is really thick. I didn't pay attention. Anyway, the following pics are me averting disaster and re-doing them AGAIN. Hey, its days like this that can only make you better and sharpen your game! So it looks a little different but to me it looks just as good.

I started out by shedding a tear and throwing my hat across the shop. Then i notched out the side panel, dropped it down about 2.5" and completely re worked it from the ground up.

Heres how it was looking.....

this is what i had to do.

testing the cooling system for proper air flow. An old sparkler will do. I don't have any smoke bombs!

Gettin tired of looking at this box yet? LOL! sorry, i just got the colors working right. Also, did some wrapping, made a platform for the buss bars and fuses. I painted the air-tunnels black as well as the buss bar platform. On the way home i stopped and talked to Sean Kat and i am about to get french-seamed up this week! I drop the pieces off this week anyway. Then the back is gonna look FRESH! It already looks better with just the little bit of wrapping i did now that the wood under the amps is covered.
