redline shift

Default redline shift

I was in sport manual mode and didn't hear the beep and didn't shift.. redlined for a second or two
will this damage the engine.?

no man, but dont keep doing that, our engines have rev limiter, you ok just keep the music down is a sport car

nope it will not. The car is designed so people like you can not damage the engine. Thats the point of a rev limiter.

Is this a serious question?

Your car's engine will just bounce off the rev limiter...it's designed do that so the engine won't blow up.

no... it "bounces" at the redline and you can't "over rev it" .......

I was really surprised that no one got at the op for not searching it. There are probably 50 threads about this.

so its not harmful when it bounces at the rev limit..
i usually keep my music lower on the highway but forgot..
i downshifted and thought i had more rpms to go

My car gets bounced off the rev limiter probably every time I drive it. I love how it backfires when it does.

I didn't say you didn't Zapa...but the people asking the questions shouldn't!

I mean...it's not hard to know what the car is doing when it hits redline, that's why it goes from 6800-9000 and it's ALL RED. This is exactly like the guy asking about why his car isn't shifting smoothly but he's in D. Which is the complete opposite! It should be shifting super smooth because he's in D. oh man... time to sign off Club Lexus
