Default Extended warranty

Has anyone looked into extended warranties on the IS-F?

Dealer wanted $3K, somewhat absurd

Bought 8 year 75K lexus platinum extended warranty from Jerry for 1765.00. The finance director at the dealership told me I only qualified for a third party warranty and would drop the price from 4K-3k with a 50.00 deductible and restrictions. Completely false and felt lied to. Called him on it as well.
As long as your original bumper to bumper has not expired you will qualify for a lexus platinum extended warranty. You should find Jerry's number on the forums. PM me if you can't find it.

Good luck and so grateful I found out about Jerry on CL.

Question about the platinum warranty.... what exactly does it cover? And will they still honor it after intake/headers/exhaust mods? And what if you don't follow the service intervals (every 5k / 6 months of servicing)?

I would take the mods off before you file a warranty claim. Not doing recommended service intervals can also raise a red flag.Service doe not have to be done by the dealer but must be documented from a reputable shop.

The stock parts directly modified [e.g. intake, headers, exhaust, O2 sensors] will not have warranty anymore as they has been modified.
The unknown is if other parts breakdown, will the dealer point to the aftermarket part having been an indirect cause of the problem...

I spoke with Jerry today also. I'll go with the 8/75 as well.
He was $250 cheaper than my local dealer
