Default Where can I take my F for service in Chicago

Hey guys,

Well I am due for my first oil change along with a couple of rattles that I'd like to iron out before the factory warranty is over. Can anyone reccomend any particular Lexus dealer over another here in Chicago, and also if there is anyone specific I should be talking to (service managers/techs) who really know the Fs. I don't want some new-hire going through my car.

On a related note, I am coming up on 5k miles from the last change and the oil looks like I just poured it out of the bottle! Nice and yellow with no trace of browning. Shame that the manual recommends 5k miles even when 80% of my driving is on the freeway. But I have the extended warranty, so I am not taking any chances.

My oil color and level are perfect after 5k miles as well. I monitor it every now and then.

The F Champion Tech there is great! He knows all about them and services a handful of them.

Also, Lexus should not be letting "new hires" work on your automobile..only F Champion Techs will work on your car, unless its something that is the same to all ISx50's cars (blower motors, etc)

Depending which is closer to you, McGrath Lexus or Lexus of Naperville. Make sure to visit the local club Lexus forum for more local information.

I've been to Woodfield and Arlington Lexus for oil changes.. Both seemed pretty standard for a dealership, neither stood out for being good or bad. The only time I can really assess a dealership is when I have a problem they have to fix under warranty, thats when they show their true colors. I had to drive 45 min to get a good Caddy dealer because it was like pulling teeth at my local dealerships to get the job done right the first time.

Which LFA would you want to gaze at? Woodfield has a red and Arlington has a yellow.

Color isn't one of the things a used oil analysis considers. Probably because there's no relationship between color and the oil's performance.

You're probably right, but reading from your previous threads I think 10k is a safe interval to get an oil change, so I assume my oil is healthy as of now. I don't track the car, and the car sees WOT once or twice per week.
