Default Sage RCA front lowering blocks installed

I received my front lowering blocks in the mail and finally got the time to install. I was mindful to take photos during the install with a friend. However, there were some aspects that were fiddly and my hands were really dirty so I didn't get a chance to take as many during install photos as I would like.

The install was easy. Best to have a friend to help with lining up the brake assembly onto the lower control arm. That was the trickiest bit.

Before install (dirty ISF)

Here we go... the magical cubes stacked on top of each other...

Wheel off and identify bolts

Those 2 bolts with the markings 11 have to go...

Jack up the disc brake assembly after removing the 2 bolts to lift it off the control arm

Pull assembly away from control arm to work

Install blocks and spacers. Loctite acts almost like lube! Put it all back together. (sorry no pics here as my hands were getting really dirty and my camera has a silver body)

Results

The car cleans itself after the install as well (j/k)

Thanks to PHML for the supply of the kit.

To eliminate the front fender gap. I do not think that there is a performance aspect to this mod.

Looks good bro! So where can I order this from? and how much was it? Im ready to get a set now ASAP

I remember reading the thread above and the lowering kit changed the suspension travel and driving characteristics when you go with 20mm or higher. What size did you go with and how do you like the ride?

Thanks. I'll PM you.

I went with 25mm. Perhaps 20mm might have been better as the front does seem lower than the rear now. The ride is exactly the same as before. I do need a wheel alignment tho.

The point of the mod was to get rid of the wheel gap. I'm really happy with the stock suspension. I don't mind the firmness. I'm not planning on keeping my car that long. I need to turn it over with my business arrangements. So this is a quick, easy and cheap way to make it look a little better.

25mm looks really good on there and definitely noticeably lower.

I received mine aswell. I went with 20mm setup. Absolutely the most inexpensive mod and well worth it!

I looked at this again this weekend Just be warned that due to the geometry of the knuckle and additional spacing will push the caster back and can have impacts on the steering response. It may also make more tire interference depending on how thick it is and what tireyou run.

RCA spacers were originally designed for flat knuckle vehicles, but the gen2 IS and Gen 3 GS have a slanted knuckle.

Yes, correct caster angle is affected.....thats why you see on guys that lowered 25mm or more, the front wheel looks like it is off-center to the rear of the wheel well. That is where the geometry makes a major change. The 15mm and 20mm kits dont change it as much, so steering feel is pretty close to stock for initial turn-in and feedback. Now keep in mind this does preload the lower arm and creates less "dive-in" on initial turn in. So it does have a different "feel".

I have the 20 mm kit and it is not as bad, but the initial turn feels slower in response. Can the caster be corrected via alignment?

Just got rid of these for some coils. The front feels way too loose. PM me if interested in the 20MM kit.
