Push in on the center button and the clips will pop up. I've taken them out so much I bought a bag of 10 from Sewell. I have not taken the engine cover off, so I don't know how it's attached....but I've never looked either.

yes, it really is pretty self explanatory. If you don’t have clearance, move what is block you. There really isn’t a way to get in there without moving things. The only extra tool I used is a small 10mm wrench because my universal joint was a little big and didn’t clear the body.

Yes and no.
It all depends on what tools you own. I have a set of Snap On wobble extensions and they make a lot of this removal unnecessary. But I wouldn't tell somebody to go out and buy them, they're far from inexpensive. I've had mine for almost 30 years now. I just recently replaced all my torque wrenches with Snap On Tech Angle digital units because my original click-type wrenches were quite old and I could afford to do it. Good tools make a big difference in getting something done quickly.

Did mine over the weekend. Once you get all the plastics out the way it's pretty easy to see what needs to be moved. Even easier if you have slim feminine hands like me 🙂
I used a 3/8 ratchet with swivel joint and couple 3-6" extensions. Job took around 2 hours but that included a 20ish minute beer and chip break.
Interestingly, I found 3 plugs that weren't torqued correctly from factory, had oil creep up them.
While I was there, I also installed RR's carbon intake, AOS and K&N slip in element
First fire up was a "oh ****" moment. She turned over, coughed and went back to sleep. Frantically checked everything was in order and tried again.
Definitely idles a little nicer, I'm sure theres less chatter from up front as well.
Booked in for ECU reflash this week now the cats are gone and all the other goodies are on. Then time to take out to show the local car scene what's up

NGK 6858 installed, great reference guide OP!! Thank you.
Not too bad, I seem to have every extension possible in my tool box, pretty straight forward job.
My least favorite part was disconnecting the harness from the coil packs. Total PITA. Good for another 60k.
