Default F vs M3 on Speedchannel

U guys prob saw it but i just watched Battle Of The Supercars on Speedchannel and it had the F vs the M3 coupe in a series of battles. It would have been better if the F was against the M3 sedan in a true comparison. Even so the F held it's own against the coupe

Seriously I don't care which car is the fastest or whatever these guys think. I love my ISF and that's the end of the case.

ha, oddly enough I was thinking about this episode earlier this morning. That episode of BOTS is ~3 years old and was discussed at length on here. The detail I really remember was that Tanner did not run the car in Sport mode in QM, which is what made the difference in the race. Upset a lot of people on here; especially considering Tanner is a Bimmer kid.
But yeah, for Lexus' first real crack at a performance car, they did a solid job to end up toe-to-toe with the M3.

Interesting have to watch it.

Actually the M3 sedan handles slightly better than the M3 coupe. So that will benefit the ISF during the comparison test.

I love my M3 sedan. I picked it mainly for its high revving V8, handling, 6MT, and overall rawness than the ISF.

I was a huge BMW fanatic before due to its prestige. I owned a 650i with every upgrade possible dinan etc., the reason why I'm a fanatic IS-F owner is that it's so much easier to own and maintain.

Well...these are both 2008s--and BOTH machines are quite different today as 2012 stock machines.

I think that the on-going comparison is a no-win for both cars: they are two VERY different animals. The M3 is too raw and stark (interior) for me: others flock to this characteristic of the car.

Althought the F has more speed (comparing stock machines), I doubt many of us are taking the F to its limited speed of 170/175 mph.

Honestly, I never know what lurks under the hood of the cars to the left and right of me. To say "Anything Goes" is an understatement.

As a relative newcomer to the scene, the ISF tends to get less than deserving reviews when being compared to the M3.Time will remedy this as the ISF is amazing... and I love every moment behind the wheel!

Speedchannel has always been way more biased towards BMWs if you haven't noticed. And I hope nobody would base any car decisions on tv shows lol.

All of the mainstream Automotive media is biased towards BMW. It's kind of annoying. It has been discribed in another threads as being influenced by advertisment

You're quite right. As a marketing executive I will tell you that Audi and BMW "buy" lots of coverage. For example, there are FEW action movies where you do not see an Audi.

Paying for play is bad in any industry--the folks in the know "know" what is really going on.

Both great cars but I must echo several others and say that it's really astonishing that you can get F levels of performance AND Toyota reliability in the same car.

I would of considered getting an M3 if the dealer out here on Guam didnt require a 10% upfront to order the car. They wouldnt even take a preapproval from the bank to show that I could afford the car or wasnt going to stiff them...

Oh well, I love my ISF!

That show is pretty old. Tanner should have never disconnected the battery. Major disadvantage in the way the car was running. I know because I shaved a full sec of mile 1/4 mile with a learned ecm of over 3k miles vs.freshly disconnected batt learning ecm.
