methanol, methamphetamine - both will kill you, just a matter of how long it takes.

NOS isn't the key to boost. Compression ratio is the key to boost, specifically dynamic compression ratio. With the static compression we have from the factory, there's not a lot of hope for adding boost to a 2UR-GSE without a lot of bandaids like methanol, propane, or something else to remove a LOT of heat. NOS won't be the winner. NOS just helps spool faster, but it doesn't reduce octane requirement the way meth or propane does.

Still, this might not be a bad car to buy if you're OK with tinkering a lot. It won't be easy to keep it happy and running the way you'd like. If it were, why is it for sale?
For our cars nitrous would be a way to tune the setup at wot...simplest way to have the car running correct.

Right, but there is a limit to boost with the static (and dynamic) compression ratio the engine has. No amount of fuel tuning will fix an octane problem. So, to run more than about 6 psi, you're going to need to run very expensive fuel.

Have to pay to play. I run MS109 for my setup and would probably switch to Q16/C16 for my turbo setup.

Maybe someone should contact Bob Norwood himself and see what the story is behind this car?

the ebay seller informed me that the cel was a MAS air flow circuit code and that it has since been fixed and been cel free for the last 1000 miles. I dunno.....still a bit sketchy to me.

It's apparent most in here do not know who Bob Norwood is. Bob has a very high opinion of himself, which makes me think that eBay email response was legitimate. Bob has accomplished some VERY noteworthy things in the automotive aftermarket, including being the first guy to twin turbo a Ferrari Testarossa that appeared in R & T's 1987 World's Fastest Cars issue if memory serves.

He may have a pretty high opinion of himself, but I wouldn't argue with him about much at all. I'd say he's earned the right to be more than a little proud. He's one of those guys who actually does the stuff most of us can only dream about.

Holding any speed record at Bonneville is quite an achievement. He's got at least three...

Its still overpriced when many people on here with bolt-ons are getting better times at the track. And if he did such a great job, why is there only one IS-F with this kit? Also what happens later on when something goes wrong with the car and they live nowhere near this guys shop? That car also would not pass a visual smog check when they look under the hood.
