Finally got the rear wheels after a 9 mo. wait. Updated setup is now 18x10 +39 rear with 265/40, 18x9.5 +45 with 255/40. Rear fender inner/upper lip rolled, top fender liner stud trimmed off.

Love that rear fitment. I'm thinking the same once I change to an 18" setup. 18x10 +40 w/275/35/18 square
As for winter tire set up; why wouldnt you call it ideal? I know wider tires are less effective in deep snow and powder, but where I live its mostly packed powder, ice and slush so thats why I went wide and square.
Anyone else run 19x9.5 et 35 in the front? with 255s?
Ok so I had some time to get a wheel mounted/tested. The target is a square 255 setup, no runs, no fender mods (I'd be ok with needing to heat and shape the liner a bit). I am on coilovers but raised pretty high.
Wheels are 18x9.5 +40 SSR GTX 01. And tires are 255/40.
I flexed it out as much as I could to see where there might be issues. Rears looked ok.
The front looked a bit rough/close for my taste. My biggest concern was the top fender vent bolt. Even with the stock wheels/tires the fender liner has a small hole worn through at that location. With this wider setup worried it would get pretty bad and maybe do damage to the body work. Or maybe the suspension geometry pulls everything back in enough by the time you get to that point? What are you guys doing to deal with clearance to that bolt?

You can bend the metal tab on the fender upwards. I did that on both the rcf and isf. Remove the bolt/scew, along with others so you can work behind the fender liner, there's a metal tab with a plastic nut where the bolt/ screw goes, heat up the paint a little so it doesn't crack when you bend it up. Don't bend it up too much, just maybe 45 or so degrees. You may also need to apply heat to the fender liner enough so that you can massage it up.

Thanks for the tip! I was also curious as well... Gotta pull off my front wheels and see where its rubbing. Every time I pull in and out of a parking spot, or hit a dip on the road, my tires are rubbing on the fender liner.
Bumping .. sorry to be annoying but potentially wrapping these wheels in tires this week..Hoping it will fit, wondering if anyone has a similar set up
Front 19x9.5 ET35 with 255/35/19 Tire
Max stock negative camber
if this setup rubs on fender, what does everyone recommend for recourse out of available options:
1) fender roll
2) camber kit
3) machine down offset ? (probably not a good idea)

It's odd that you had rubbing with your OEM sizes. Were you using spacers? I had a similar issue with my winter tires due to their massive shoulder blocks rubbing the same spot right next to that bolt but only on the passenger side because my wheel base is 1" shorter on that side, resulting in the wheel not sitting centered in the wheel well. May not be the case on your setup but something to check.

Thats a lot of low offset and rim for the front. Your just gonna have to see how bad they fit and start working the body. Don’t machine the wheels. People think “there’s plenty of wheel there, take off 5 mm.” But the part of the wheel that touches the hub doesn’t hold the wheel on, the thin metal between the lugs and the hub hold it on.

The real question is how much rubbing are you willing to tolerate?
If a little bit then you might be ok... but you'd be better off with a 30 series tire... I ran 19x10 +38 with 275/35/19s for awhile and it rubbed quite a lot for my taste but wasn't anywhere close to unusable... mostly just annoying on bumps and reversing out of parking spots. Ultimately I decided to size down to 275/30/19s and that helped a lot but still rubbed some.
If none then you have a lot of work ahead and even then it will be tough.
Also you didn't mention if you are stock height or not? That will matter a lot. My previous mentioned setup was at stock height.
Replace the bolt with a GM Trim Panel Retainer #458780
Sweet, i'll look it up.

I went ahead and did this. The backing to the screw pokes out pretty deep, i'm not sure I was even able to get 45 deg out of it, i'll see how that GM fastener that was recommended does.

No spacers, OEM Bridgestone tires even. Why was your wheel base 1" shorter on that side?
I ended up selling the SSRs for what I had in them, Just put an order in for some WedSports SA-25R wheels 18x9.5 +45. I think the extra 5mm will help. now I have to wait 4 weeks.
