That looks amazing but sounds like it would rub like hell on stock suspension, do you have aftermarket? lowered? did you have to roll/shave the arches?

The car is lowered on Ohlins suspension with 18K/14K springs. Rear fender lips are half rolled, meaning there is still about 8-10mm of lip. The top fender liner studs have been trimmed flush to the top of the nuts. The only work done to the fronts is the fender liner protrusions (where the fender side vent is screwed to the fender) have been heated and flattened. No rubbing.

Your wheels fit over the RC F/GS F calipers in the front in the 18" size? More than two hairs width clearance?

I picked up an '08 Mercury Metallic ISF a few months ago and I love this setup, but I kinda want to run 18s to soften the ride a bit.
Is there anything I'd really have to change to not have any rubbing or anything? I'm on stock suspension as well.

I did not need any fender modification with this setup and still measured at least 8mm clearance from sidewall to inner fender lip on the rears. My front right occasionally rubs the plastic liner in one spot over big bumps but it's no big deal for me. I'll probably get around to bending the liner tab back one day.
Keep in mind too that tire width can vary by a lot between tire models and also each car will have slightly different clearance tolerances. But if mounted tread width is no more than 10.5" (as reported on tire rack) you should have no rubbing with +55 offset in the rear.

Been creeping for a bit and it seems like 18x10 +40 with 255/45 front and 275/40 should work fine with stock ride height and not require fender mods. Can any one describe their experience with a set up similar to this?

Momo is having a sale on wheels, so I was thinking of picking up some Catania's for half off.

Anyone running wheels made by Superspeed, a Canadian company? According to Superspeed's website, their lightest wheel in the FlowForm line is RF03RR. The RF03RR wheel in 18x9.5 +45 weights in at 18.7lbs, which is on par with the RPF1 in similar size. At a price tag of $1,100 shipped, it's pretty affordable. The company looks legit from desktop research. I am considering these for daily and occasional track purpose, but I am not entirely confident they clear our stock brembos. I had searched in our forum, but couldn't find any results. I'd love to hear from anyone who has experience with these wheels or with Superspeed wheels in general. Thanks!

I found a nice set of used Advan TC-4s in 8.5J ET38, and 9.5J ET45. Would 255/40R18 and 275/35R18 work for our cars?

Edit:
Also found some Advan GTs in 18x9J ET35 and 18x10J ET40. Would these work as well?

TIA

Never heard of them but FWIW lightweight + flowformed = weak and brittle no matter what brand. You mentioned occasional track use. I would ask them what treadwear tire their wheel load rating of 1521 lbs is based on. Their warranty against structural failures is for"normal and intended use" only. I would get them to define those terms before using these on track.

Thanks MMI. Superspeed confirmed that their wheel load rating of 1,521 lbs is based on 420 treadwear tires. How do I interpret that?
