Price on a 2008 IS-F With only 5,000 Miles??
Hey guys,
I was offered an 08 ISF with just under 5,000 miles on the odometer for $45,000.
It is a private party and it seems like the guy is pretty well off. As you might expect he has a few cars and never drove the ISF much.
What would you guys pay for this car? Is 45k a good price? It is Black with the Alpine White seats, with Navigation, front and rear sensors.
Thanks

Sounds like a good deal if the asking price is already including the tax so you wouldnt be needing to pay much to register... If it isnt, see if he can factor it in so it would be included in the loan and you wouldnt have to pay outta pocket for that... GL on your purchase bro!

My 08 had 11k miles back in April and the purchase price was a little north of 43. I was willing to pay a little extra since I wanted USB. So if the car is what you are looking for, the asking price is not out of the ballpark.

IMHO, the asking price is correct. Before I retired I was a Supply Chain Manager (Subcontracts Manager) or a glorified buyer. The goal of every purchase is a win/win for both the buyer and the seller. Sounds like the deal you were offered was from a private party and the deal sounds like a win/win to me. Go for it If you wanted the seller to do anything, you could ask him to give you two bill of sales, one listing a lower sales price that you could present to the DMV so that your sales tax bite would be lower. I defently would not ask him to absorb any sales tax in the sale price to you. Just my opinion.

Fair price for a low mileage gem! You can never argue if you know the history of the car and it's previous owner. To me those are worth the $$$.
I sold my IS-F for a premium, many thought it was too much but who cares since they are not the buyers. As long as buyer/seller are happy then it's a win.

Even with low miles don't forget that it's been doing a lot of sitting. That's definitely better than someone flogging it at a track...but depreciation is depreciation.
That's a nice price for the mileage for sure though and if you dig it I would go for it. But for just a little more you can get a '10 or '11 (with more miles) but more warranty coverage and LED headlights, LSD, etc. if those things matter to you.
If it was me and the price was the same, I would go newer over less miles on an 08.

Well you gotta know what you want. You asked if 45K was a good price and the consensus is yes.
Used cars are just that. Very hard to get exactly what you want. If you want a newer one then there is no point on how good of a deal it is if an 08 is NOT what you want.

That is exactly what is keeping me from purchasing it at this moment, that and the fact that 45k is my budget. I see a few 2010's on autotrader right around 45k and I really like the new nav, LSD, and actually love the black Navigation button as opposed to the grey ones in the 08s..
I would go newer as sometimes it's almost as bad for a car to not move much (unless it's been kept in some special storage)
